Aktiva Oval Bottle

We present here a SIPA design that matches aesthetics with enhanced technical properties such as high ovality. Named AKTIVA, its asymmetrical shape is inspired by the human silhouette, making it visually unique and purposefully ergonomic to fit naturally in the user's hand.
Designed for environments like the shower where grip is crucial, the bottle features a textured surface all around, enhancing comfort and preventing slips.

Target

The primary goal was to redefine the personal care packaging experience by creating a PET bottle that balances high-end aesthetics with superior physical ergonomics.

 

Design Inspiration: A shape inspired by the human silhouette, utilizing an asymmetrical form.

 

User Environment: Specifically designed for "wet" environments (like showers) where secure handling and comfort are critical.

 

Technical Ambition: To successfully manufacture a container with a high ovality rate of 2.2, a significant technical challenge in PET blow molding.

The project successfully transitioned from a bold design concept to a high-performance production reality.

  • Production Specs: Manufactured using the SIPA SFL FLEX linear stretch-blow molding machine, achieving a production rate of 1,100 bottles per hour per cavity.
  • Physical Characteristics: A 33-gram bottle featuring a PCO 1810 neck finish, ensuring compatibility with various cap formats.
  • Custom Components: Development of a custom flip-top cap that integrates seamlessly with the bottle’s dynamic profile for a secure closure.
  • Sustainability Achievement: The final product incorporates 30% recycled PET (rPET), aligning with circular economy goals.
